Built by a civilization lost to time, the Temple stands as the enigmatic heart of the Forbidden Lands. Its original purpose remains unknown, though its architecture suggests a deep understanding of shadow magic. Dormin, a fragmented shadow entity, is implied to have always been a part of this land, speaking from the Temple from the very beginning. The walls bear faint markings that hint at past rituals or failed attempts to harness forbidden power. The structure acts as an anchor for reality within the Forbidden Lands, but whether it was built to contain Dormin or simply coexists with the entity is a mystery. Wander's arrival triggers the ancient pact, allowing Dormin's voice to guide him—and ultimately, to manifest more fully as the colossi fall.

In Their Own Story

Wander dismounts Agro at the base of the towering stone walls. The silence here is heavier than anywhere else in the plains, pressing against his ears like deep water. He steps through the open archway, leaving the sunlit grass behind for cool shadow. Inside, dust motes dance in shafts of light that seem to originate from nowhere. At the far end, a massive monolith hums with dark energy. The air tastes of ozone and old stone.

Environmental clues suggest this structure predates the current era by millennia. Carvings on the inner pillars depict shadowy figures and ritualistic ceremonies, hinting at a forgotten pact between humanity and the entity within. Unlike typical ruins scattered across the plains, the Temple remains unnaturally preserved, protected perhaps by the very Colossi that guard its approach. Scholars of the Forbidden Lands theorize the building functions as both a shrine and a prison.
